Mr. Russell lives with his wife Barbara, outside of Richmond, VA. He has over 20 years police experience, most of which was as a trooper with the Virginia State Police. He has over 1,000 hours of specialized accident investigation and reconstruction training.

Mr. Russell has taught accident investigation at police academies, written articles, and co-authored the state police Accident Investigation Training Manual. He was instrumental in starting the first state police crash reconstruction team, and has investigated over 2,000 accidents including hundreds of fatalities and personal injury crashes. These accidents included automobiles, light trucks, commercial vehicles, pedestrians, and motorcycles.

His training and experience also includes specialized schools in commercial vehicle accident investigation and vehicle inspections, as well as DOT compliance issues.

Accident Investigations, Inc. employs state of the art technology in the reconstruction of crashes including the Nikon NPL-332 Laser Total Station, Crash Zone computer software, the Vericom VC-3000 computer for test skids, and the Vetronix CDR Crash data download tool, for which Mr. Russell is a certified technician.

Mr. Russell is a member of several professional organizations in the field of accident reconstruction, and has testified in court as an expert witness.

 

 

Barbara Russell

Barbara graduated from Auburn University in Alabama, with a degree in Art Education.

Her career in advertising and media has spanned 30 years and included  positions as a graphic artist,  art director  and television sales executive. 

Barbara moved to Richmond, VA in 1984  to join WFofR Advertising,  a media buying company specializing in TV advertising for  pharmaceutical companies.  During her 20 years at WFofR, she rose to the position of Vice President/ Media Supervisor , served on the company’s Board of Directors and,  from 2000-2004,  was President/COO of  Radio Marketing Group,  a newly formed subsidiary of  WFofR.   

While marketing a highly specialized “niche” business like Accident Investigations is  different from the mass marketing approach of electronic media,  Barbara  finds it a refreshing change to have “more than 30 seconds”  to explain the benefits of our product to our customers!
